missing graphics in kde4 (slack13) w/ i845

I have a fresh install of Slackware 13, which I upgraded to slackware-current for the KDE 4.3 packages. Colors are missing from the taskbar and icons are missing from kmenu and file manager (see attachment).

Desktop effects are disabled and I've tried the various alternate xf86_intel drivers with the same results. The system has integrated i845G(?) graphics, and looks ok when using non-kde apps.

I'm guessing this is a problem with KDE4 (which I'm quite happy with, since that awkward "getting-to-know-you" phase is over). Xfce works fine without any graphics issues, and most apps under KDE (Eg. Firefox) display properly.

This is a test system, so I'm not losing any sleep, but was wondering if anybody else had this problem. Any ideas on how to fix?

did you delete your .kde directory in your home directory? If not give that a try.

Looks like you forgot to install the new packages that were added to the Slackware-current tree?

Code:
kde/kdelibs-experimental-4.3.2-i486-1.txz: Added.
kde/kopete-cryptography-1.3.0_kde4.3.1-i486-1.txz: Added.
kde/oxygen-icons-4.3.2-i486-1.txz: Added.
Especially that last one is relevant to your problem.

Eric

Thanks Eric, slapt-get --upgrade didn't catch those... I guess I shouldn't be so lazy.
