Hi there, I have downloaded the 2 slackware isos and it seems my burning is having some trouble and I can't install it. I found a way (at least for another distro) to install by looping the iso on harddisk. I was wondering if the following commands would work, or how could they be adapted to the slack disks... Or should I buy them from e-bay (sorry, even 40$ u.s. is out of my student-budget...)
Also, can the first cd do the whole install or would I need to switch cds to install the whole package.
mkdir /mnt/loop
mkdir /mnt/slack
mount -o loop pathto.iso /mnt/loop
cd /mnt/loop
cp -a * /mnt/slack
cd /mnt/slack
chroot /mnt/slack
mount -t proc proc /proc
slackware
exit
umount /mnt/yos/proc
reboot
I'm a real newbie and don't even know what the chroot and proc do... so please give me a chance...
Also, I'm aware the distro might be a bit complicated for me but i need the challenge... thanx
It has one chance to success if the script is saved in a linux boot floppy, then boot the computer with the floppy into it, mount the partition where the iso file is located and so try execute the script.
