looking for mp4v2

Trying to install this;
http://www.mytux.org/content/viewslackpackage.php?id=58
but having trouble finding mp4v2. My guess is the packager means the libraries of mp4v2 but not sure about that part either.

It doesn't appear to be in my version of faad2 as suggested elsewhere, and I would prefer not installing mpeg4ip. Downloaded a Suse rpm of libmp4v2 and will try that if no other way is found.

Anyone know where to find this?

Appears to be part of "vlc" which is available in linuxpackages.net repositories I think.

Also, what's the software do that you're installing. Will it run without this library. Often apps will run with reduced functionality if some non-essential libraries are missing.

Or try http://resare.com/libmp4v2/

Was wonder why that library was needed myself. The app captures screen video. The videos ar meant to be diplayed on a site called Capitorials.

Thanks for the reply, I will check into vlc and the link you provided.

should be in faad - ./configure --prefix=/usr --with-mp4v2

is what i norm use - and it builds mp4v2 with internal libs, and i have never had issues with it
