loading usb modules before/when lilo loads.

hello,

I was wondering if I could load the usb modules when lilo loads. because my keyboard is plugged in to a usb port and I can't select different kernels unless I plug the keyboard into the ps/2 slots. I tried searching online, but didnt' get any articles explaining this.

Thanks,

djgerbavor3

No, you can't. LILO is just a bootloader, it loads the kernel into memory, and jumps to the kernel startup code. Most BIOSes have an option allowing you to specify that a USB keyboard is attached. If that's enabled, you should be able to use the keyboard in LILO (since the BIOS passes the USB keyboard keystrokes as normal keystrokes).

If you compile the option you want into the kernel then it will load with the kernel. If you make it a module, then it will load after the kernel. Lilo and modules don't really load at the same time
