First time to try
/usr/bin/links. The command
links -g throws an error:
Code:
X Error of failed request: BadMatch (invalid parameter attributes)
Major opcode of failed request: 1 (X_CreateWindow)
Serial number of failed request: 12
Current serial number in output stream: 18
System is Slackware 15.0 64-bit. X server is
/usr/bin/Xvnc from
tigervnc-1.12.0-x86_64-3. No problem starting other X clients from the same
xterm where I'm running
links -g. The X server is at audit level
7 and logs to
syslog. No errors were logged. No errors appeared in
.xsession-errors. Output of
strace of the
links process didn't help me.
Text mode does not throw an error. Adding
-display $DISPLAY and/or
-driver x made no difference.
ttks on
##slackware-help reports it works on a different 15.0/64 system, and suggested ruling out conflicting resources. The error persists when there is no
.Xdefaults, no
RESOURCE_MANAGER property, and
XFILESEARCHPATH has a null value. A minimal environment vector created using "
env - HOME=$HOME DISPLAY=$DISPLAY /usr/bin/links -g" made no difference. Setting
xhost + made no difference.
