konsole username

Hey, this isn't a huge problem, but does anyone know how to make the konsole in kde go from "bash-2.05b$" to "username@directory you're in$" or however it used to look? I don't know what I did to make it change... I did install kde 3.1.1a. Thanks.

That's one of the reasons I quit using Konsole and started using Eterm. There are other terminals you can use as well other than Konsole through both KDE and Gnome (accessible in both as well). Try out different terminals and see if you find one that already has it. I really like Eterm and find Konsole ugly anyway--but that's just my opinion. Check around and see what you've got. In the meantime, if you need to know what directory you're in, you can always type pwd. Hopefully someone else will know how to change that for you if you're hell bent on using Konsole. Hope this helps.

This is the easiest way I know:

In your home directory, create a file called .Xdefaults
be sure to look for this file first, so you don't overwrite it if it already exists.

Add this entry to the file:

konsole*loginShell: true

Save and quit. Next time you fire up Konsole, you'll be looking at your user name!
