Keyboard layout

I'm using a UK QWERTY keyboard, but it seems to be set to a US layout (or something else). Any ideas as to how I can change it (arghhh, took me ages to find the hash key)? Thanx.

I don't know which are the differencies from the uk layout and the us layout but you can change it editing yr file:
/etc/X11/XF86config

in the line
Option "XkbLayout" "us"

Insert uk!!
