I downloaded Slack 9.0 from one of the mirrors (can't remember which one). The install went fine and I'm totally impressed.
I want to recompile the kernel but when I go into my /usr/src directory the only thing listed there is /rpm. My question is, aren't the kernel source files included in the download versions or am I not looking in the right place for them.
If they're not included no big deal I'll grab them from kernel.org

Thanks.
They are not included, I had to download them to recompile. I think there is a 2nd CD floating around that has extras but I didn't really look too hard.
I just upgraded to slack 9 as well. I was also wondering where the kernel sources were. I have yet to verify, but my brother said that they are in fact on the cd and that you have to select install by packages to see it.
I'll check it out.
