KDE 3.3.1 with Slackware 10: I have a problem


HI!
I have installed slackware 10 with kde 3.2.3... when I attempt to update to kde 3.3.1, apparently works all perfect, but when I want to go out kde doing loguot, the screen becomes paralyzed and no command responds me
who can help me?

Sounds like an old Win95 shutdown sound file corruption :-)

Are you trying to shutdown using command console or KDE GUI?
Does CTL-ALT-BACKSPACE kill X?
When it hangs, can you get another terminal up (CTL-ALT F3) and kill it that way?
What version of X server are you running? Getting the latest xorg wouldn't be a bad idea if it's X that is hanging......

i have the last X11 version.
and CTL-ALT-BACKSPACE don't work, i can't you get another terminal up all the system hangs

If you would read the README file that came with the 3.3.1 KDE, you would know that it crashes if Root is the last one to log out of it.

Running X as root?! Bad Vemc! Bad doggy!

My system starts into KDM, my first and last user to login/out is non-root : no problems for me.

*"first and last" - what the hell does it mean?
I use Multiple X screens for multiple users. See here for more detail
