If you mean the never-ending-after-reaching-99%-complete thing, it seems to be solved indeed. I only tried burning one DVD so I may very well have been lucky :-) but it worked correctly

I download the source for k3b and recompile using src2pkg. This way allows k3b to take advantage of various libraries that are not included with stock Slackware.

'cept the notifier tune cuts off early but I don't worry much about that. I'm not going to the cli to burn anymore.

Well I just wasted 3 DVDs finding out that K3B in 13.0 would not burn isos. :-(

DVD:
growisofs -dvd-compat -Z /dev/dvd=/home/foo/image.iso

CD:
cdrecord -dao dev=7,0,0 /home/foo/image.iso

I gave up trying to trust K3B not to coaster images.

K3b worked just fine in 13.0 for me when I installed the kde3 compat libraries in /extra (for 13.0 I used the KDE 3 version of k3b).
K3b in 13.1 works without a hitch.

This is an issue when using K3B to burn DVD+R media.
The solution is to go to Burn -> Misc -> Multisession Mode and change from Auto to No Multisession.

This particular bug is fixed in the k3b version shipped with Slackware(64) 13.1. BTW, it seemed to be cosmetic in nature, anyway, as actually all DVDs and CDs I tried were burned correctly.

It was like in the old days of vinyl, when record players didn't stop automatically. The music was over, but the needle reached the end, jumped back a bit, reached the end, jumped back... You get it. Until someone honourable and pure at heart took pity on it and put an end to it.

gargamel

P.S.: Thinking over it, the bug was more like a feature, as it made k3b behave truly Slack'ish, meaning all the power is in the hands of the system owner, and k3b is not even allowed the decision to stop burning.

I've been running k3b from current(64) and had issues until the last update in May (which is what 13.1 was cut from). Hopefully you should be OK.

K3b &^!$@#

I have lost scores of CDs and DVDs due to this piece of s...
I'am currently using k3b-1.91.0-x86_64-1 with Slackware64 13.0 and it works sometimes if I set low speed instead of Auto. But I've just lost 5 more DVDs and 1 CD ...

k3b-1.91.0-x86_64-3 (the latest, from 13.1) if installed wouldn't launch at all ...
I even think it may be a hardware issue (DVD)

Well, I'm now going to install Slackware64 13.1 on the new PC, will see if the issue is really fixed.

Maybe a warning not to use k3b for burning is in order. I cringe the day I lost some dvds due to k3b (slackware 13.0), sort of destroyed my "perfect slackware experience".

btw, does anyone know how to get imgburn (wine app) to work with blank dvds? winecfg couldn't detect an unmounted blank disc and imgburn couldn't locate the drive? thanks.
