Hello. I have installed k3b by compiling from source. The program starts up and I can put together a CD and attempt to burn it. Each time at 50% complete (this is the point at which the actual burning should start) I get an error : cdrecord returned an unknown error (code 2).
No such file or directory. When I ask to see debuging information I get the following:
System
-----------------------
K3b Version:0.11.18
KDE Version: 3.2.3
QT Version: 3.3.3
cdrecord
-----------------------
pregap1: -1
/usr/bin/cdrecord: No such file or directory. No read access for '/home/Jay/temp/k3b_audio_0_08.wav'.
I don't know what this means. I get the same error if I run k3b as a regular user or as root. Any help would be appreciated as I am so close, but so far away. Thanks, Jay.
Thanks for the quick reply. I did not install cdrecord as it seems to already be installed as part of cdrtools. According to /var/log/packages I have cdparanoia, cdrdao and cdrtools. Also, when I configured lilo during install I did something (can't remember the exact command) to make my ide cd writer look like a scsi device. Does that help at all? Thanks, Jay.

Only if you're using the default kernel, 2.4.26. Otherwise, you should NOT have that.
when I set up Xcdroast from source i had to set up symlinks for certain programs like cdrtools, cdrecord, etc. from /usr/local/bin to /usr/bin. just ln -s from to. Should be all set.
