JUST a Couple of questions about Sound on Slackware (Current)

OK. So i have in my /etc/rc.d/rc.<start scripts>:
  • rc.alsa
  • rc.alsa-oss
  • rc.pulseaudio

I have also enabled Pipewire.

Do I need to chmod +x those other rc init scripts? Do I need ALSA, and Pulseaudio? Why would I WANT TO chmod these scripts? Why are these rc init scripts still there, if I don't need them?

And a side note...what about Timidity++?

FYI: Sound works fine.

This is, without a doubt, the most surprising

No, if you plan to use Pipewire.

> Do I need ALSA, and Pulseaudio?

I don't know, do you need them?

> Why would I WANT TO chmod these scripts?

Try to open each script and read the first few lines, it will explain the purpose of it.
