I know your opinion about Plasma 5 cwizardone - you're quite vocal about it on my blog ;-)
Despite the trend in desktop land to flatten the workspace and get rid of fancy 3-D, there's still a lot of improvement under the hood of Plasma 5. The inside is a differnt beast. And even those "boring" flat icons have subtle transition animations in them, it just needs some getting used to.
If Plasma 5 seems a return to the age of Windows 3.11 at first glance, then it needs a second look. If you still think the same about Plasma 5 after all these weeks, you have not been looking past that first glance. You're doing good by returning to KDE 4.14.3 (I am running it on this desktop machine) but Plasma 5 really is more than you think of it, take my word for it.
About the lull in development - it's the quiet before the storm folks.
Distribution: Slackware64-current with "True Multilib" and KDE4Town.

I've given it two looks, but you are right, my opinion of plasma 5 is based on its appearance. As I've said before, it doesn't matter what is under the hood if you can't get past the looks. The Edsel was, according to Ford, a good car, but the automobile buying public considered it so ugly very few were sold.
If you can figure out a way to put a bag over the head of plasma 5, please let me know.

Now you boosted my expectations or destroyed them depending on how you look at it.
Before my thoughts where that mesa, X and kernel start to feel a bit old (i use OSS GPU drivers) but i hoped that there would be a release soon so current could start moving again but now i don't know what to think or hope for anymore.
Well a Slackware release i ready when it's ready as always
Praise Bob. I am of the opinion that Eric's statement is indeed good news. We are closer to 14.2.
Yes i guess it is and it's been happening before that there been big updates close to an RC.
Looking at "The what should be updated in -current thread" it could been an huge update but it can be cherry-picked as well.
i hope we see an update soon since now i'm curious.
Pat is probably vacationing on some South Pacific island with his toes stuck in the warm sand while pretty native island girls bring him pina coladas and seafood and soaking up the sunshine, while everyone else is freezing in the mid-west and the cold north-east...
oh yeah, almost forgot to ask, hows Slackware doing? are we there yet?
As always, don't get too excited with that tweet.
Those batch could be released in days, weeks, or months from now
only time will tell us
Yep, I thought it was ready to go public a week ago but Pat doesn't seem to want to stop!
I started updating ARM already but didn't really scratch the surface yet.

Talking about ARM updates, I want to say Sincere Congratulation for The Epic Update, from Sun Mar 8 22:17:55 UTC 2015, when, in my opinion, Slackware ARM entered in the Desktop Age, offering a decent functional operating system, running like a charm the current shipped KDE, on a Banana Pi, where I even configured an disgusting large 2GB SWAP partition in the harddisk...
