IPV6 slackware download iso image

Hi Slack forum!
I have one tunnel with IPv6 with IP@ the ifconfig shows:

it1 Link encap:UNSPEC HWaddr 00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00-00
inet6 addr: 2001:800:40:260c::10e9:2/126 Scope:Global

collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
RX bytes:125610 (122.6 KiB) TX bytes:123722 (120.8 KiB)
Due to new slack 12.0 I tried to use the new IPv6 funcionality for donwload that iso image from belgium mirror:

root@x350:~# wget http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackw...install-d1.iso
--18:55:05-- http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackw...install-d1.iso
=> `slackware-10.2-install-d1.iso'
Resolving ftp.belnet.be... 193.190.198.20, 2001:6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931
Connecting to ftp.belnet.be|193.190.198.20|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 668,659,712 (638M) [text/plain]

0% [

Trying to force IPV6 to that mirror , seems not working:

root@x350:~# wget --inet6-only 2001:6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931 http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackw...install-d1.iso
--18:57:02-- ftp://2001/6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931
=> `6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931'
Resolving 2001... failed: Address family for hostname not supported.
--18:57:02-- http://ftp.belnet.be/packages/slackw...install-d1.iso
=> `slackware-10.2-install-d1.iso.1'
Resolving ftp.belnet.be... 2001:6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931
Connecting to ftp.belnet.be|2001:6a8:3c80:0:203:baff:fe39:f931|:80...

But I,m able to visit ipv6 sites with no problem.

Have some of You succesfully download any iso file from a slackware mirror using IPv6

Thanks a lot
Manuel

From what I see, you didn't have to type in the IP adress.
wget deals with it as it would have done with a url.

Doesn't it start to download the image afterwards?

are you able to use wget on another site?
just try to download your favorite webpage with wget.

If that works, maybe there's a problem with the Belnet server. You may try to use ftp:// instead of http:// to download the slackware iso.

Hi Janhe !
thanks for Your reply ,
You are correct, wget works ok in my favorite ipv6 web site:

root@x350:~# wget http://www.ipv6.elmundo.es/elmundo/
--17:43:00-- http://www.ipv6.elmundo.es/elmundo/
=> `index.html'
Resolving www.ipv6.elmundo.es... 2001:450:9:10::71, 2001:450:9:10::115, 2001:800:400:10::71, ...
Connecting to www.ipv6.elmundo.es|2001:450:9:10::71|:80... connected.
HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 91,811 (90K) [text/html]

100%[==============================================================================================>] 91,811 136.40K/s

17:43:02 (135.75 KB/s) - `index.html' saved [91811/91811]

root@x350:~#

"Seems" , that this belgium mirror does not support Ipv6.

Do You Know another slack mirror that support IVp6?

I donwload the 12.0 slack , with no issues,using 1pv4.
The question , is just for experimental
pourposes, I want to use as much as posible this tunnel..........to Ipv6

best regards
Manuel

I don't know another mirror that supports IPv6, but if you mail to support@belnet.be, someone probably will try to help you.
Belnet is the Belgian ISP for universities and colleges. They sort of exist to help people experiment with internet (and use it for research and education)

Maybe just include a link to this post in your email to belnet?
