And talking about gtkpod, it is possible to add movies and photos to an Ipod? or what other software do you use?
Since the iPod is mounted over wifi with ssh as long as it is on and within range of my router I can mount it. so if it is locked inside my car in front of my house hooked up to my car stereo, I can still mount it and add/remove music and movies. with gtkpod I can add movies as well but not photos. I can put photo files on the iPod and view them with a 3rd party viewer app but not the iPods built in photo viewer because it can't update the iPods photo database. as for other software I use with my iPod I have written a couple scripts that use mencoder to convert video files and DVDs to iPod compatible .mp4 files that I can add with gtkpod. The cool thing is all of my movies (in .mp4 format) are available on an apache server on my network allowing me to watch any of my movies through safari on the iPod without putting them on the iPod (streaming) and this apache server is also hooked up to my tv and running a small web-app that I wrote to controll mplayer allowing me to use my iPod as a nifty touch screen remote for when I want to watch my movies on my tv (with mplayer.)
