In X i can only run at a res of 1024x768. In windows my screen will run to 1280x800, since its wide screen.
I'm using the x810 generic drive and have tried changing the xorg.conf file to make it "1280 x800" It seems i can only get a diffrent res is if i modify the "virtual" values.
I have browsed google and came across a program or two but couldn't really get anything to work.
Not sure if this means anything but i uncommented DRI and GLX out of the xorg.conf file.
Let me know if anymore details would be of help to answer this questions
i can't seem to find those rates anywhere. Even tried the alienware knowledge base. It seems to be a driver issue. Are there any know linux drivers for this grahpics card?
We did have the kernel compiled with intel graphics driver support but it still didnt work and was forcing us into 1024x768. We had to add a couple lines and modify the screens section in the xorg.conf file in order for 3d hardware acceleration to work. Everything works now though. Thanks.
