I just installed slackware-current on a pc with an intel 82845g on board graphics. kdm loads fine and allows me to log in, but about the 4th icon(i think can't remember exactly) on the kde splash screen it always crashes, the screen looks as if the refresh rates are set incorrectly and kde no longer responds. From that point on X doesn't work at all until I reboot. from what I've read I've found this is a common problem with this chip and only appears in kde4, but I can't find any solutions. Does anyone know of any or am I SOL until there's a bug fix or new version released?

And if I am SOL where would I find log files containing errors that could help fix this bug?

If you want to run -current you will need to use the VESA driver and accept the entailed loss of performance and lack of desktop effects in KDE.
