My ultimate goal is to have a dual boot XP / Slackware 10.1 system that has wireless capabilities in both Operating Systems.
I have a Dell Latitude C600 and I've recently installed the Intel 2915ABG minipci wireless card.
There are directions at
http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/ which seem pretty straightforward but none of the resources I've looked through and googled for say that after I flash the firmware on the card that it won't work in Windows XP anymore. So after I flash the firmware on the card - will it work in XP?
I know for a fact that it does work in Windows XP sp2 with the Intel software that came with the card. I have as of yet been able to get Slackware 10.1 with the newest kernel or something 2.6.x on it and working.
Before I take on this endeavor - I need to be absolutely certain that it is actually possible (done before in the past and it will work, plain and simple). I'm not a developer and I can't write code for this sort of stuff but from my understanding that if it will work in Linux then I should be alright.

In recap: should I flash the card's firmware and in doing so, does it lose the ability to function in XP?
