Question Intel 2915ABG minipci firmware flash - work with xp after?

My ultimate goal is to have a dual boot XP / Slackware 10.1 system that has wireless capabilities in both Operating Systems.

I have a Dell Latitude C600 and I've recently installed the Intel 2915ABG minipci wireless card.

There are directions at http://ipw2200.sourceforge.net/ which seem pretty straightforward but none of the resources I've looked through and googled for say that after I flash the firmware on the card that it won't work in Windows XP anymore. So after I flash the firmware on the card - will it work in XP?

I know for a fact that it does work in Windows XP sp2 with the Intel software that came with the card. I have as of yet been able to get Slackware 10.1 with the newest kernel or something 2.6.x on it and working.

Before I take on this endeavor - I need to be absolutely certain that it is actually possible (done before in the past and it will work, plain and simple). I'm not a developer and I can't write code for this sort of stuff but from my understanding that if it will work in Linux then I should be alright.

---

In recap: should I flash the card's firmware and in doing so, does it lose the ability to function in XP?

I don't think it will loose the ability to work on XP, the project was created by Intel and I don't think they would risk to do so. If a important change could be made by flashing it they would tell you with big red letters

Thank you for your very fast and prompt feedback!

I'd like to follow common sense but sometimes I question myself.

Besides, if it doesn't work in XP anymore it's not really a big loss
