Installed/compiled 2.4.22 now unable to open modem

I was running 2.4.0 more or less everything working (Including modem) I have recently installed 2.4.22 and compiled it and now when I open kppp and try to dial out I get an error unable to open modem.

What have I missed out of my compile???

Any ideas

Adam
