Installed 32bit update packages accidentally

Hi

I installed all the 14.2 slackware updates yesterday, and today I was wondering why I'm getting SSL errors and file not found errors for files that really are there.

And then I realized that I rsync-ed and upgradepkg-ed the 32bit updates on a 64bit system

Does anyone think that if I upgradepkg the correct updates now, I will still have any 32bit junk left over? It would be wonderful if the 32bit and 64bit packages all contained the same files, but does anyone know if that's a fact?

Thanks in advance!

If you have any unwanted 32 bit applications on your system after you return your system to normal working order you can remove them with pkgtool.

# pkgtool

Use down arrow and hit enter at Remove. Then you can select all the unwanted 32 bit applications you installed and remove them.

I don't see any, except kernel-headers but it looks like that one only has an x86 version.

So I guess I'm good, thanks!

Upgrading the packages using upgradepkg will replace any files that are the same and then remove files that don't exist in the new package. So, it should replace or remove any files that are 32bit if you upgrade them with the 64bit packages.

If you do want to double-check that no 32bit packages remain, you can do a quick ls in your /var/log/packages/ directory.

Code:
ls -la /var/log/packages/*-i?86-*
