Installation guides for 13.1

I'm currently running slack 12.0 32-bit. I intend to install
13.1 from the DVD. I have the following partitions
Code:
/
home
/usr/local
I'm a relatively seasoned user, a programmer and comfortable with
the command line. However, I do not consider myself a system geek
and I do not perform installs all that often.
I'd welcome links to appropriate installation guides, tips and
relevant discussions.
Thanks
tim

The installer hasn't really changed since 12.1, but this should help get you started

I would recommend sbopkg for adding additional packages to the system.

Talking

Hi... I have borked my box with multiple systems many times and just recently, so I have noticed things...like always remove USB stuff before you start to do an install,it can cause the installer to stall... even a fault on another drive can cause probelms... ! don,t proceed if you are not entirely happy with what you are doing, installers can limit your choices forcing you to do something thats not exactly what you plannned...the partitioning can be done with any partitioner before you start. Some installers ofer to install into the largest free available space so you can provide that with any good partiton tool like Gparted.
The Slack installer is pretty straight forward,if you dont know your host name or domain then just insert localhost localdoamin or leave blank and hit enter as most installers will insert the default value for you...Slacks default host name is Darkstar...
Finally,I dont sit and watch it,I go for a cup of tea or do something then when I come back its done or not... LOL good luck !
