I had a problem with -current package libcap-ng-0.8.1 - placed in current 11/19

After running slackpkg+ this morning and upgrading the last weeks worth of packages I was unable to mount CIFS shares.

Kept receiving this error:

Unable to apply new capability set.

Nothing in logs that I could find.

Removed libcap-ng-0.8.1-x86_64-1 and then compiled libcap-ng-0.8 from source and now I have no issues.

Same here. Looks like the new version has gotten a little TOO aggressive for its own good.

For anyone else having the same issue, or other issues after updating, don't forget you can download previous Slackware-current or Slackware64-current packages from:

https://slackware.uk/cumulative/slackware-current/
https://slackware.uk/cumulative/slackware64-current/

Grabbed the package https://slackware.uk/cumulative/slac...8-x86_64-2.txz on my system, and all is well.

Thanks for the report.
This needs to be fixed upstream in cifs-utils. A patch has been submitted.

I just tested the submitted patch. Mounting cifs shares works again.
