I can't return to Shell after startx

I'm using Slackware 14 and when I press the Ctrl+alt+shift+F(1-6) to return to Shell, I can't; there is a new key combination for this option? if not I think that there's a security issue...

Although the Shift key often is needed when in a desktop environment.

Yes, and it's the reason of the question, I'm accustomed to use it, in Slackware 13.37 works the both (and I only use the Shift combination until 14), I will prefer the 'new' single combination, because it's less tedious than the other. Thanks for answer!
