Unhappy How to ugprade gtk to 2.4 ?

Hi,

I tried to upgrade gtk from 2.2 to 2.4 (using the package found at http://www.slackware.org/pb/search.p...tring=gtk%2B2-)

I didn't work and I want to know if recompilation is needed for gnome, xfce... or I'm just missing some other package ugrade.

Gnome 2.6 will take advantage of gtk 2.4. So, if I want to use Gnome 2.6, do I need to upgrade gtk and recompile xfce (which I use eventually) ?

Thanks in advance.

The March 23rd changelogs http://www.slackware.com/changelog/current.php?cpu=i386 would indicate all the packages using gtk2.4 were recompiled for it. I see a new xfce, so you should be able to use the newly release version.
