How to save current setting volume ( alsa)

I used command "alsactl store" to default level volume of my sound card but it wouldn't work well. Then, I have to set up volume each time I boot up.
what is method to save current setting volume? I don't want to adjust volume on each time. I used gnome 2.6

Add this line to /etc/rc.d/rc.local:

alsactl restore

Try doing an 'aslactl store' then an 'alsactl restore'. That usually clears it up for me. Did you install the Slackware ALSA packages or compile ALSA on your own? The Slackware packages come with a handy script /etc/rc.d/rc.alsa that does the same trick Kovacs suggested as well as running 'alsactl store' during a shutdown or reboot. If you installed from source you should be able to extract that file from one of the Slackware ALSA packages (not sure which one).

Thanks for that, I didn't know there was an rc.alsa... I just got it from ftp://ftp.slackware.com/pub/slackwar.../ap/alsa-utils and I'm just about to reboot to test it.
