How to remove items that were installed without slackpkg?

Over time, I have installed a bunch of stuff without slackpkg. Examples are vmware, python libraries that were installed with pip, perl libraries with cpan etc.. slackpkg clean-system obviously does not recognize these items because there isn't a corresponding entry in /var/adm/packages. I am hoping there might be a way to go through the entire tree, compare to a standard slackware tree, and remove the extra stuff. Is there such a thing?

vmware comes with uninstall script, but you may need to remove some leftover. You can easily use locate vmware and remove the configuration and log files.
as for pip and cpan, they do have to be managed carefully or else it will be a mixed environment and may cause more issue in the future

usually every installed tool has an uninstaller. like: apt install/apt remove, yum install/yum remove, slackpkg install/remove, pip install/pip uninstall, amd-gpu-install/amd-gpu-uninstall just to name a few.
So you need to know how these stuff were installed and the same way you can remove them.

If you installed these programs from sources, in the appropriate sources directory, you can run the command, make uninstall.

As willysr pointed out, you may still have a little housecleaning to do after the uninstall.
