Question how to make second wheel scrolls horizontally

I have 2-wheel mouse A4tech WOP-35.

When in xorg.conf I have following option:
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"

both wheels scroll vertically

and when in xorg.conf I have following options:

Option "Buttons" "7"
Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5 6 7"

first wheel scrolls vertically
and the second scrolls vertically and horizontally at the same time

Does someone know how to make the second wheel scrolls only horizontally?

Here's what you need:

Option "ZAxisMapping" "4 5"
Option "XAxisMapping" "6 7"

Easy peasey, japanesy.

This does not work with my A4Tech 4D usb mouse.
I use the IMPS/2 driver, what do you have?
[edit] xev shows both wheels as being button events for 4 and 5.

Slum,

It doesn't work with my mouse neither.

davidsrsb,
I use "IMPS/2" as well and also in my case xev shows both wheels as being button events for 4 and 5.

Is there any chance to make the second wheel work correctly?

See my unanswered thread in hardware:
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...hreadid=327286

This references a patch to mousedev.c, part of the kernel. It looks like 2.4 kernel does not understand the second wheel.

davidsrsb,

I use kernel 2.6.11.7, so apparently this patch was not included into 2.6.* series.
I'd rather do not patch 2.6.* kernel with the patch for 2.4.*
