Hi guys I am wondering how do I install the Mate Desktop Environment for Slackware 14.1 I have tried to install by using the Slackbuild Scripts maybe I am not doing something right but I keep getting the following error
Quote:
mate-build-base.sh: line 5: syntax error near unexpected token `newline'
mate-build-base.sh: line 5: `<!DOCTYPE html>'
If someone could give me a simple step by step instruction it would be appreciated to work out where I am going wrong I use slackbuilds all the time this is the first time I had this issue thanks in advance
I worked it out I accidently didn't extract one of the folders from the zip file which caused me to have this annoying issue all good guys I don't know how but I must not of highlighted it before I extracted the files all is working now
I am certainly enjoying it nice and snappy perfermance and ease of use even for experienced Linux user doesn't eat all my resources like KDE much better suited for Slackware makes my Os run a lot more smoother I think from now on I will just stick to Mate KDE is far too bulky and clogs up my resources I find all good. Thanks anyhow for the quick replies last night and am happy to report im happy using Mate
