The image, I think, you're talking about is in the /boot directory (slack.bmp), but unless you have an X server running at login, it's not really going to be available to you.

I think OP is referring to this:

https://slackbuilds.org/repository/1...ch=screenfetch

Is there certain ascii art out there you're talking about? Anyway, I'm not sure if the below is what you're looking for, but hopefully it'll work.

I did a quick mockup using this site (font is Roman, but you can select "All" to see all of them and find one you like) and got the following ascii characters for Slackware. This site also does ascii art and can also base it on pictures, but I think the first is much better for text.

Code:
 .oooooo..o oooo                      oooo
d8P'    `Y8 `888                      `888
Y88bo. 888 .oooo. .ooooo. 888 oooo oooo oooo ooo .oooo. oooo d8b .ooooo.
 `"Y8888o.   888  `P  )88b  d88' `"Y8  888 .8P'    `88. `88.  .8'  `P  )88b  `888""8P d88' `88b
     `"Y88b  888   .oP"888  888        888888.      `88..]88..8'    .oP"888   888     888ooo888
oo     .d8P  888  d8(  888  888   .o8  888 `88b.     `888'`888'    d8(  888   888     888    .o
8""88888P'  o888o `Y888""8o `Y8bod8P' o888o o888o     `8'  `8'     `Y888""8o d888b    `Y8bod8P'
Then you just add them into your .bashrc with a way to display them. So, in your .bashrc, you'd want to have the top line contain cat << "EOF", then the ascii art, followed by a final EOF

Code:
cat << "EOF"
 .oooooo..o oooo                      oooo
d8P'    `Y8 `888                      `888
Y88bo. 888 .oooo. .ooooo. 888 oooo oooo oooo ooo .oooo. oooo d8b .ooooo.
 `"Y8888o.   888  `P  )88b  d88' `"Y8  888 .8P'    `88. `88.  .8'  `P  )88b  `888""8P d88' `88b
     `"Y88b  888   .oP"888  888        888888.      `88..]88..8'    .oP"888   888     888ooo888
oo     .d8P  888  d8(  888  888   .o8  888 `88b.     `888'`888'    d8(  888   888     888    .o

If you want screenfetch, I verified that it works in a vt. Download screenfetch from slackbuilds. For all users, create a file, and place it in /etc/profile.d/
Otherwise you can put in users .bashrc

My /etc/profile.d/screenfetch.sh
Code:
#!/bin/sh
# Display screenfetch for interactive shells:

case $- in
*i* )  # We're interactive
  echo
  screenfetch
  echo
  ;;
esac
EDIT: I really like the way bassmadrigal's solution looks in a full size terminal!

Perhaps the above is what you're talking about? In that case it's from the slack-desc of the aalib package in stock slackware

You want that in [code][/code] tags on the forum to preserve the spacing. But that does look nice (when it's properly spaced).

Code:
                   ████████  ██                   ██                                            ██ ██
