How do I update mozilla-firefox from 68.12.0esr to something more recent

I have Slackware64 14.2, I don't want to upgrade to version 15 on this machine. Firefox 68.12.0esr was good but I am having issues with it lately. I have built from source and did slackbuild. Where can I get sources and instructions?

Thanks in advance

I think that the reason that there are no Firefox updates anymore for Slackware 14.2 is that it does not build from source with the libraries installed on 14.2.

If you are lucky, the latest Firefox might still work on Slackware 14.2 if installed as a binary. There is a script which downloads the latest binary Firefox and repackages it as a Slackware package at:

I've been using the Salix distribution's copy of mozilla-firefox, currently on mozilla-firefox-91.9.1esr-x86_64-1gv.txz, it seems to be a drop-in for the out of date slack-14.2 firefox. Find it on any Salix mirror in salix/x86_64/14.2/salix/xap/. Note that they track the ESR version.

Try going to 'aboutrofiles', checking what profile you are on, and/or trying the other ones if there is more than one present. I had installed newer firefox not too long ago and had the same issue. I believe the profile was switched to 'release' and I had to switch it back to 'default' which was my old one with all my bookmarks and whatnot.

edit
Code:
about:profiles is what that said. I dunno how to escape the : on here from making that emoji

I have had considerable success (not 100% but very close) by copying old backups of ~/.mozilla/firefox directory while Firefox app is shutdown. That directory contains profiles and if you launch Firefox and type in "aboutrofiles" you casn see all of them listed and start another instance of firefox with each profile. If you want, once you find the appropriate one you can rename, relocate or remove the ones you don't want and make the one you life "Default"..
