I'm having a problem configuring gnucash. I followed the
instructions on rjmarq.org for the slack 8.1 packages and successfully installed g-wrap (using checkinstall) and slib (using rpm2tgz). The configure script for gnucash itself errors like so:
checking for main in -lgal... Unknown library `gal' no
configure: error: gal library not found. See the README and config.log for more info.
README is no help, and config.log actually has configure erroring on the NEXT step:
configure:13133: checking for main in -lgal
configure:13148: gcc -o conftest -g -O2 -Wall -Wunused conftest.c
-lgal -lpopt -lm -lm 1>&5
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i386-slackware-linux/3.2.2/../../../../i386-slackware-linux/bin/ld: cannot find -lgal
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
configure: failed program was:
#line 13141 "configure"
#include "confdefs.h"
I certainly have the gal libraries installed (in /usr/lib with symlinks
to the same in /usr/local/lib). The version of libgal is 2.0.
