Help! My internet just went down!

Hi, I had my wireless connection running just fine until.....20 minutes ago when I installed (unknowing that i already had it), acpid as well as a few other programs (spicctrl, radeontool). When I restarted my system, I found that I now cannot connect wirelessly to the internet! I can see my card and everything, it's just that when I try to ping something (or connect to the internet), nothing happens. I tried everything - including removing all the apps I had installed (including both versions of acpid), although i reinstalled acpid immediately after. Error output from dmesg is as follows:

eth1: New link status: UNKNOWN (0008)
hermes @ MEM 0xe089c000: BAP offset error: reg=0x8000 offset=0x0
eth1: error -110 reading info frame. Frame dropped.

This is strange - I 1) deleted a node I created for sonypi (/dev/sonypi), and then restarted, and it seemed to work (although with errors - more below), and then I realized that I hadn't actually *installed* the sonypi daemon, which I just did, and then did the necessary steps to get that running. My internet now works, but I still have an error message in dmesg:

eth1: New link status: UNKNOWN (0008)
hermes @ MEM 0xe089c000: BAP offset error: reg=0x8000 offset=0x0
eth1: Error -110 setting multicast list.
eth1: Error -110 setting multicast list.
eth1: New link status: Connected (0001)

Any ideas on what that is? I know I had it working straight out before, instead of it not working and then trying to correct itself. What is this 'setting multicast list' message??
