Question Has anyone successfully built seahorse 3.8.x on Slackware/Salix OS 14.1 (x86_64)?

Hi, all!

I'm trying to build seahorse 3.8.x (I have tested with 3.8, 3.8.1 and 3.8.2 versions) on Salix OS Mate 14.1 x86_64 via SlackBuild but I always get the following error (quite a few lines for clarity):

I researched a bit and think it is not an isolated case. Here is the thread on a Russian forum. I have also tried mapping the dependencies through the packages offered here but unfortunately it are for Slackware 14.0 so I had no success.

I would appreciate any help...

Regards.

Your build fails because of problems in the declaration of a function that is part of libsecret. Slackware has libsecret-0.15, and seahorse-3.8.1 builds ok on a clean Slackware-14.1 system.

I don't use Salix, but apparently Salix has libsecret-0.16. Google shows that other distributions (e.g. Arch) could not make the combination of seahorse-3.8.x and libsecret-0.16 work; they went back to libsecret-0.15. You will need to discover for yourself what possible versions do work together with the rest of Salix.

Since seahorse builds ok on Slackware-14.1, that is probably the end of what we can do for you here in the LQ Slackware forum, but forum.salixos.org might be able to help.
