Hardware Changes

Hi,

My current machine is running on an AMD K6-2 with a gigabyte GA5-AX motherboard. If I were to move the HDD into a ABit KT7 motherboard running a Duron 800, would this stop slackware from working? I'd boot the default kernel from the slackware install then re-compile 2.6.1.

Just I know that if you do the same kind of thing with windows it shouts at you and rarely works afterwards

So can I just swap or is a format/re-install in order?

TIA

Nope, this isn't windows It should work fine. Often I would install on one machine that was faster then put the drive back in my server.
