Last week i started having problems with my hard drive going into read only. When this happened i could not do anything. I would get input/output error so i just did a hard power off. When i came back on fsck was showning some corrupt libc files so i decided to reformat the hard drive. While installing slackware 14.1 about half through the install the installer started showning corrupt files. So i thought the hard drive must have gone bad. I change the hard drive to another hard drive and tried installing the Slackware 14.1 again and this time i did not get any files showning up as corrupt. The system was working fine for about 2 days then once again the system was going into read only mode. Any ideas why i would do this with 2 hard drives less then one week apart.
Also i did memtest and it passed. Today i decided to look a the power voltages in the bios screen. When got to the power voltage screen i saw the one voltage which is suppose to be 3.3 at around 2.9 and it was red could this be the reason for my hard drive problem?

How old is the power supply? Does your computer have additional equipment which was not in the original configuration? I am thinking that your power supply might be marginal for your configuration.

It is a very likely cause of your hard drive problem and indicates a bad or failing power supply. If you could post more detailed info about your basic hardware configuration and your power supply(manufacturer, wattage), that would be helpful in troubleshooting your problem. Do you have a spare power supply available of sufficient wattage that you could swap in?
@Jailbait my power supply is about 4 years old. No my configuration has been basically the same for about 4 years.
@Kilgoretrout The power supply is rated at 400w and it from diablotex. I suspected this but when i search for answers
online most said the hard drive was bad. Yes i had a spare power supply so i just changed it.
Thanks Everyone.
