Here is my grub.conf

#---------GRUB MENU LIST (GENERATED ON 18-7-2003)--------

#------------------------OPTIONS-------------------------
default=0 #DEFAULT (ENTRY 0)
timeout=5 #TIMEOUT (5 sec)
root (hd0,4) #BASE PARTITION
color light-gray/blue blue/light-gray #COLORS
splashimage=(hd0,4)/grub/splash.xpm.gz #SPLASHIMAGE

#--------------------OPERATING SYSTEMS-------------------
title Slackware Linux 9.0 (2.4.20)
root (hd0,4)
kernel /boot/kernel-slack9-2.4.20-m root=/dev/hda5 ro hdc=ide-scsi vga=791 quiet splash=verbose
initrd /boot/initrd-slack9-2.4.20-m

title RedHat Linux 9 (2.4.20-8)
root (hd0,5)
kernel /boot/kernel-redhat9-2.4.20-m root=/dev/hda6 ro hdc=ide-scsi vga=791 quiet splash=verbose
initrd /boot/initrd-redhat9-2.4.20

# ENTRY 1: Windows XP Professional
title Windows XP Professional
rootnoverify (hd0,0)
makeactive
chainloader +1

Note that a new Slack doesn't havae initrd image, so you can delete that line. Moreover, check for exact kernel name, I renamed mine while I made up order in /boot/ ^_^
Hope this help! Sayonara!

I think I am going for GRUB. I am quite tired of
dd if=/dev/hdb of=/slackimg.bst bs=512 count=1
and then boot Windows
and then edit boot.ini
and reboot to Slackware again.

why don't you just edit the boot.ini from slackware?
