hi

I tried to create a grub package with sources of slackware tree extra
but i get this error.

I use slackware64-13 .

Code:
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /bin/ginstall -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking build system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking host system type... x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles... no
checking for gcc... gcc
checking for gcc... (cached) gcc
checking for C compiler default output file name... configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables
See `config.log' for more details.
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
make: *** No targets specified and no makefile found. Stop.
i downloaded this folder:
ftp://ftp.slackware.at/slackware64-1...a/source/grub/

and then run grub.slackbuild

thanks for all.

GRUB doesnt compile on x86_64 you need to do it in 32bit

Try this.

I had a similar issue with slamd64 using some of the slackbuilds. Try this. Go into the slackbuild file itself and near the top of the file you should see a line such as this.

ARCH=${ARCH:-i486}

Change that to this
ARCH="x86_64"

That should force it to compile in 64 bit mode. I dont know why it has this problem. I hope that works...

~Jessica~

EDIT.

Oh my your talking about grub...
Then I'm afraid my post probably wont work... I am sorry.

In that case you might use "i686" instead and force it to compile in 32 bit mode if it doesnt work in 64 bit mode.

I used this package from -Current32 on my Slack64-C systems. Works perfect.
