for whatever reason geany is no longer being seen by the system as an option for opening (text) files. I can right click the text file select properties and it no longer is there under the "open with" option.

it was there awhile back but I've been playing in manjaro,so I don't know when this happen per say, as I came in to slack to update the system when I noticed the text files being opened with another text editor.

I did a quick remove greny then recompiled and installed it again to see if that would fix it but NOPE.

any ideas on a fix?

You could modify ~/.config/mimeapps.list and add an entry for geany

FWIW: on XFCE on current, `right-click/open with` on a text file shows (a list with) Geany at my end.

(I have installed geany -and geany-plugins- with scripts from slackbuilds.org; via sbopkg using ponce's git repository)
