Freetype...

I installed freetype-2.1.9 because imlib2 needs the file "libttf.so". Well... after the installation of freetype there's still no libttf.so. Any ideas on how I can fix this so I can get imlib2 to build? I've tried numerous things to no success. This is my error BTW...

checking for TT_Init_FreeType in -lttf... no

ERROR: Imlib 2 needs a system with libttf.so (TrueType Font Library)

You may just need to run /sbin/ldconfig as root.
