I'm getting this error...

Unable to complete network request to host "localhost"
Failed to establish a connection.
Connection refused
unable to open database

also i did a netstat -a
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
tcp 0 0 *:3306 *:* Listen

and iptables --flush

i can ping the machine hosting the firebird server... but i cannot ping into that port....

any ideas!??

(also i need documentation/information/howto/etc.. on firebird under linux!!!)

I think this will help you:

Are you sure Firebird is running? Port 3306 is used by MySQL if Firebird uses the same, both can't be listening on the same port.
