Unhappy fam how to?


hi everyone,

i was wondering how i would go about making fam run as
a service (or module, or something) so that my gnome
desktop environment is auto-updated when file changes,
creations, removals, etc. occur.

i installed dropline gnome. fam is installed as well, but it
is not running, and i do not know how to get it running.
