dropline root erros


just installed dropline gnome and now i have a problem with running programs as root that uses the displace when i've loged in as some one else

sd@cannedlawn:~/sane-backends-1.0.9$ su
Password:
sdt@cannedlawn:/home/sd/sane-backends-1.0.9# xsane
Xlib: connection to ":0.0" refused by server
Xlib: No protocol specified


(xsane:7293): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0

once i've su i cant run any thing that uses the xwindows however once im back to a normal user its fine

run xhost +

then su root
