It should not harm anything, since also slackware ships an older verssion of gtk+3, but in case you find anything wrong let us know. It will be very helpful for us.
Thanks for the congrats in the name of all of the team. There is a work and another thread for 3.8 if you want to try it. Right now doing some more updates to have 3.8.2 working.
