Double Kernel Removal

Hello:

I was trying to upgrade my kernel to the 2.6.15.3 that's available in the slackware current's testing repository. I downloaded and used pkgtool to install them, BUT I forgot to remove the old kernel packages. Of course, the system is borked for now, and won't boot past lilo. Is there a way to login (chroot into my system?) from my install CD and remove those packages (pkgtool?), or would I be better off just reinstalling everything and starting from scratch? I don't really have any pertinant information on my drive (I just slack 10.2 up and running) but I'd rather invest hat much time again. Thanks for your response!

Regards,
Austin

You should be able to boot from a LiveCD and rerun lilo to fix this issue.

Hello again:

I ran lilo from slax, and that seemed to get me past the boot screen. However, I get a kernel panic when it tries to mount root, saying there's something wrong with LVM or VFM or something. If anyone has any insights, I'd appreciate them. I'll restart here and check to see exactly what the error is. Thanks again.
