Do you like the look of the fonts in 13.37 ?

Hi H_TeXMeX_H, That's normal. You are using a Sans font and I am using Serif ... and your font has larger pixel size. I also tried larger fonts and they had no problem.

Yeah, I use Sans because it's large and readable ... and that's what I need. Either way it looks ok.

I didn't notice any difference

Anyway, I use XFCE with anti-alias and medium hint way back 13.1 and it still look the same to me in 13.37.

I definitely saw a difference upon first starting up (though I already assumed I would prefer the 'old style' as mentioned in CHANGES_AND_HINTS.TXT), and I wasn't overly fond of it (though I could live with it). After using the autohinter there is still a very subtle difference from 13.1 but I actually prefer it. So I'm perfectly happy with the current font situation, though it should be noted that I care very little about fonts.

i didnt like the fonts in KDE especially the font in firefox. But in XFCE is really good. why? can anyone point me how to repair the font in KDE?

That's terrible, I could not work with fonts like that.
I hope I can change font look in 13.37 to this one I have in my 12.2.
I haven't had time to upgrade to 13.37 yet and I've skipped 13 and 13.1 because 12.2 has been so good and I didn't want to deal with the unfinished KDE 4
But I'm upgrading this week so I hope I can make the changes. Verdana is my favorite font for onscreen reading.
I've tested many other fonts but I could never make any other font look as sharp and clear as Verdana. Have my eyes been infected by some Microsoft virus?! Please help!

The answer is no in regards the commandline. The fonts are too small. The good news is that they can be changed.

Problem solved after forcing freetype to not anti-alias Liberation Sans and Liberation Serif by creating a /etc/fonts/local.conf file.
By default these beautiful fonts are anti-aliased to ugly faces.

I have to agree fonts were so much better in 12.2 TT
I tweaked around without success...

What did you put inside /etc/fonts/local.conf ?
