what about simple solution to the problem:

Seems like Asus issue, not Slackware but easily fixable.

I have 11th Gen Intel i7-1185G7 with NVMe only and VMD disabled (custom kernel 5.13.10) and all works. Your other laptop: ASUS M570DD has this feature (VMD) probably disabled.
