dianamicly changing (dropline)gnome icon

Hi,

this is more (dropline)gnome question, but I am using slackware, so I'll ask it here.

is there any way to change an icon of the file or directory after i.e. mounting or changing something else?

I have made a perl script which mounts some dirs, and I would like to be able to change directory mount point icon.

one more question: is it possible to call a gnome application or whatever from perl, which will show an alert-info windows with a specified text?

Don't know about changing mount point icons in GNOME, but for the second question: Dropline comes with zenity, a command line tool to draw dialog boxes. Try calling it as a shell command from perl

zenity --info --title="$TITLE" --text="$TEXT"

where $TITLE and $TEXT are the title and text you want the dialog to have.
