Cron email perplexion

I have a

00 5 * * * /home/dave/changelog/changelog.sh 1>/dev/null

Job to diff the Slack changelog and pop kate up on the screen with details of changes etc so I can read in the morning.

Problem is I'm still getting a daily email about it even with 1>/dev/null.

Any other way to turn off cron emailing?

*Edit: Just found an - at the start of line might help?
