Question could use some help with cmake,lmms-extras

I am trying to build lmms-extras,wich uses cmake.
but i get an error right off;

Code:
 CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake-2.6/Modules/FindQt4.cmake:1664 (MESSAGE):
  Qt qmake not found!
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  CMakeLists.txt:38 (FIND_PACKAGE)

-- Configuring incomplete, errors occurred!
now i have qt4-4.4.2 wich is a requirement,it is installed in /opt/qt4/bin
how do i direct cmake to the qmake directory?
I dont even get the cmake gui?
any help would be appreciated!!!

Rick,

Here's a link to the Cmake documentation.

Regardless of the other configuration options, you need to point cmake to QT4:

Code:
cmake -DQT_QMAKE_EXECUTABLE=/opt/qt4/bin/qmake
Curiously, the above code doesn't show up in cmake's documentation. I know it works, though. Maybe it's in QT's documentation.

Alternately, make a symbolic link to qmake-qt4 say in /usr/local/bin (or anywhere else in your $PATH). Cmake will catch it then.

Good luck.

./configure,make,make install.
i have to confess ive never made a symbolic link?
i'll search around and see if i cant figure it out.

Check out this wiki page with a simple guide to the ln command, which makes symbolic links. Symbolic links are like shortcuts.

Something about building lmms (use a build directory !!!)
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...highlight=lmms
see #9
# 'ln -s /usr/lib/qt4/bin/qmake /usr/bin/qmake-qt4'
is the safe choice for some reason.

And this about lmms version
http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...highlight=lmms
see #4
