connect to another computer in dolphin/network/samba shares does not logged out?

Hi slackers, slackware 14.0 64, 3.2.29, stable, up to date

When I use dolphin/network/samba shares and connect to networked slackware computer, authorization dialog, enter user name/password I can get into whatever folders.

Come back couple days later connection is still there.

When I log out of KDE to command line, log back in, dolphin/network/samba shares and try to connect to same slackware computer I get authorization dialog.

What is it that logging out disconnects the connection through dolphin/network/samba shares? Can something be put into a cron script to drop anything?

I have 'net use * /y /delete' scheduled overnight process on windows computer to end networked connections.

Thank you

You seem to be describing expected behaviour.

The credentials are provided and cached for use in the session.

If the same login session is active, then the credentials are still cached.

The login session has been closed and the cached credentials have been lost.

If you have a security concern, get into the habit of logging out.

Umm, in case the OP is still on LQ, you might want to mark this thread as "solved", thank you.
